We took the kids up to Manchester to the John Lynch Re-Election post-primary celebration. Spencer talked to a number of NH State reps asking about what it takes to get started in politics. The “Second First Daughter of NH” did a fine job introducing her father.

Only in NH, saw Presidential Candidate at lunch
Tuesday, January 8th, 2008Wendy and I had lunch at the India Palace in Nashua and a few minutes after being seated a Democratic presidential candidate comes in and has lunch. Unaccompanied. Only in NH on primary day!
Anyone want to guess who it was?
I do have a photo of this person in my Flickr photostream.

Hillary Clinton @ Manchester Rally

Last night we took all the kids up to see the last Hillary Clinton rally before the Primary today.
They were all troopers, especially Emma who fell asleep during it.

Wendy was psyched that Hillary signed her homemade sign.

The boys are supporting Vermin Supreme (yes, really registered as a Republican) in the NH Primary

Sunday some of us walked up and down Elm Street in Manchester, NH to just soak in the political atmosphere.
We saw some fun stuff:

Randy Crow, Democratic Candidate for President (with Spencer)

A GOP person protesting Giuliani

Daniel Imperato, Independent for President

Bill Richardson who we actuall drove over to Litchfield to see.

Rudy Giuliani

I’m going to start hitting the Republican events — they are much more exciting.
At this evening’s Rudy event at the Nashua Elks’ club there was a Pro-Life protester who started yelling at him — “A vote for Rudy is a vote for Dead Babies” and “You have blood on your hands”. The crowd was Pro-Choice and kind of murmured over the protester. Spencer and I ran into the dude (see the complete photoset for a picture of him) and asked who *he* was supporting — Huckabee.
At the car there was a strange Pro-Life flyer from a mythical Smith 2008 candidate who has a “Negro Problem”. It is copyrighted by Randall Terry. I’ll scan it in later.

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr & Kerry Kennedy
Originally uploaded by marcn
This afternoon at the Nashua Public Library, Robert F. Kennedy Jr , Kerry Kennedy and Kathleen Kennedy Townsend were discussing why they are Hillary Clinton. At first it looked like it was going to be two other people and myself, but then twenty or so GMU students stopped in.

Hillary

There was a Hillary Clinton event at the Nashua airport this morning. She hasn’t changed her speech very much and took a bunch of questions from the crowd.
Two reporters interviewed me mostly interested in knowing what I thought of the 3rd place finish in Iowa and if she should change her message.

John McCain in Merrimack
Saturday, December 29th, 2007McCain was in Merrimack, NH today and I took a bunch of photos at the event.
They are all licensed under the Attribution Creative Commons license.

A couple of Ron Paul supporters were outside holding signs
The only remarkable moment was during Q&A a young woman asked “I have just one question. Why are you in favor of amnesty for illegals?”.
McCain: “I’m not.”
woman: “I’ve been informed that you are.”
McCain: “You have been poorly informed.”
He then did go on to talk to his position on immigration — securing the borders but also said that we should treat those here illegally well since we are all god’s children.
